Ruth lives with her wildlife photographer, husband Michael Caroff in Bellingham ,Washington. Her other family members include a dog,  and  1 duck.
Ruth creates one of a kind "Sculptural Paintings".which are inspired by a heartfelt love of Animals and Trees.San Pietro's Art is innovative & Inspirational.     What was destined  for the garbage  heap has now been created into collectible art and beautiful .The sculptural paintings are created from 100& recycled paper fiber built directly on canvas.

I have a deep concern for the quality of life in the natural world. My art is dedicated to inspiring creativity and helping to support and protect wildlife in their natural habitat.

I have developed this  method to create  100% Recycled Paper Fiber, then transform this resource into "Wildlife Sculptural Paintings"Each one of these works evolves from a long process and a minimum 1 -2 yrs to complete.

 

Each begins with a photograph. paper fiber water and a blank canvas.

 

My most current paintings  are  Flying Birds" of the Pacific Northwest. Tundra Swans, Snow geese, Eagels and Sandhill Cranes.

 

Ruth San Pietro's work has been exhibited in Juried Shows,Museums,Universities,Hospitals & Galleries.
In the Northwest her exhibits have been with Allied Arts,Jansens Art Center and "Wings over water" at Semiahmoo Resort.Ruth has been Featured artist Art in The Barn Sudden Valley, Bellingham. Whatcom Museum recently included Ruth's Wolf  Sculptural Painting in an Open Studio tour preview. Ruth San Pietro's Studio has been on the tour for 4years.The first  weekends in October 2022. www.studiotour.net
